In 2004 I had a life-altering change come about when I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. After fighting my way back through this serious condition, I knew I would no longer live my life as I had lived it before. My life purpose needed a shift. After returning home from lying in the hospital for weeks, I wasn’t feeling at all like myself. As a woman, I felt defeated and helpless and really at a loss of what I could do in my life from that point forward. I didn’t feel beautiful or attractive, like I used to feel, and I desperately wanted to get back to that place of confidence I once felt. As a result of my sickness, I was unable to return to my career, but I knew I wanted to do something that empowered women and helped them to feel beautiful and excited about life, no matter what their circumstances. That’s when I decided to use my passion for beautiful lingerie and my desire to empower women and launch chicunderthings.com.

So many women don’t recognize that just the little things can begin to change their outlook on themselves and life; a new hairstyle, a beautiful dress, a special undergarment. All of these things may seem trivial to some, but I know that sometimes approach we take toward caring for ourselves on the outside impact how we feel on the inside. So I encourage women to treat themselves to something special once in a while. You don’t need to break the bank, but just reward yourself in some way. You deserve it for all that you do and all that you are, and I promise, you’ll begin to feel like a better you because of it.

My goal is to empower women to empower other women. It’s a simple goal that I’m making for life and I hope you decide to make it a goal of your own, too.
